About Us

The Montimber International Group of Companies (“Montimber”) was established nearly ten years ago in New Orleans, Louisiana by principals who have over 50 years’ combined experience within the forest products marketplace. Montimber is a vertically-integrated forest products company with strong roots in the importation of tropical hardwoods. Through its continued growth over the last few years, Montimber has expanded the reach of its importation platform to include:
• Importing unfinished and finished high-end residential wood products into the United States.
• Serving a large domestic transportation manufacturer with ready-to-install components.
• Entering into and delivering on domestic hardwood production arrangements with various buyers.

Vertically Integrated to Give the Customer Cost-Effective Customized Products

Montimber’s domestic hardwood production was initially established at the saw mill level, where logs are processed into merchantable lumber, dried, and then graded. As part of its focus to become vertically-integrated, the Company’s saw mill operation feeds a growing portion of its hardwood production to Montimber’s own flooring operation. As these synergies continue to develop and grow, we are quickly adapting to Montimber’s slogan “From the forest to your floor.” These synergies have allowed our customers to have more control over their potential design modifications with respect to their product purchases – more so than what they would get from purchasing from traditional lumber yards. A specific example of this benefit to our customers comes in the purchase of custom cut beams.

Montimber’s model creates a one-stop shop for our potential customers wherein we produce an added value product at a significantly lower price while leveraging higher efficiencies. Our model removes the added layer of costs typically associated with the use of brokers that traditionally act as middlemen between the production facilities and the lumber yard. Our operation not only cuts out the middleman costs for customer savings, but more importantly, it allows us to satisfy our customers’ specific needs using a much smaller footprint tailored to our customers’ situation which can easily be expanded through duplication as opposed to adding new components to an existing business model. In short, these efficiencies have allowed Montimber to successfully compete in a market where organic vertical growth was achievable, allowing for much lower initial capital expenditures and a recession-shielded model that allows for costs to be much lower thus mitigating the risk of future volatilities in the economy. Montimber’s Management and sales operations assess and mitigate risk, eliminates the middleman and associated costs, and increases the Company’s wood products offerings while never compromising quality or straying from our model.

In-House Logistics and Warehousing- The Final Piece to Cost-Effective Product Distribution

Montimber’s vertical integration does not stop on the production side. The company incorporates in-house ocean logistics, customs clearance, and warehouse operations allowing for our product to be effectively transported, stored, and distributed to the marketplace, combining a lean production model with the ability to centralize and distribute in house allows our customers to get the best value and spend less time doing it. Our model allows for the customer to get what they want when they want it all under one roof.
